Pragmatic Equivalence of Expressive Speech Act in Television Series Bridgerton

This article aims to identify pragmatic equivalence in the translation of expressive speech acts. Descriptive and comparative methods were used this study analyze data. Data collection is done by analyzing documents with technique observing note-taking. The data form utterances containing acts on subtitles Bridgerton TV series English Indonesian. obtained through accessing Netflix platform a personal account. Found 123 subtitle functions criticizing, praising, sarcastic, complaining, apologizing, condolences thanks. result research shows that there are two types translator has successfully achieved translating equivalences illocutionary force distance relevance. Thus, been able convey messages from source text target commensurately.
